Patricia (Patty) Cano, 27 years old, is a singer and actress born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario but who’s family comes from Lima, Peru where she still spends a fair bit of time. She graduated from the Drama Programme at the University of Toronto in 2001. Since then, she has worked as Assistant Musical Director/Sound Designer with France’s world famous Le Theatre du Soleil under the Artistic Directorship of Arianne Mnouchkine. With this Paris-based company, she has toured the planet to, among countries too numerous to list, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Afghanistan,.Australia, New York City, and all over Europe. As a respected cabaret artist, she has sung at theatres, clubs, and other venues in cities such as Barcelona and Salamanca in Spain, Berlin, Germany, Toronto, Stratford (Ontario), her home town of Sudbury, and other places. As an actress, she has, among other roles, played “Emily” in the world premiere of Tomson Highway’s musical, ROSE. As a Canadian by birth, a Peruvian by origin, and an artist based in Paris, France, she is completely fluent -- both as speaker and as singer -- in Spanish, French, English, and Italian, though she sings in Cree as well and, more recently, Korean, this last as a direct result of her world travels with the great Ms. Mnouchkine.
