Heather Caplap

Heather Caplap is an interdisciplinary performance artist who works varies in style from meditative to comedic. Drawing on feminist, queer and puppet theory, she translates personal and political everyday experience into a variety of forms including: performance, video, drag, sculptural installation and puppetry. Her solo work focuses on issues relating to body politics, aesthetic identity, anticapitalism and craft, with an intentionally DIY aesthetic. Heather is a founding member of Twigs for Bones Puppet Collective. Amongst her most recent collaborations are the Edgy Women Festival, the VAV, Eastern Bloc and Mouseprint galleries, the Bread and Puppet Theatre, the Dora Wassermann Yiddish Theatre, the Anarchist Theatre Festival and Montréal’s Nuit Blanche.
