Born in Montréal in 1961, Francis Catalano is a poet, translator and essayist. He has published several volumes of poetry: Romamor (Écrits des Forges, 1999), Index (Trait d’union, 2001), and M’atterres (Trait d’union, 2002), which was a finalist for the Terrasses St-Sulpice Prize of the journal Estuaire and the FA Savard Award. In 2005, he will publish an anthology entitled Panoptikon (Triptyque). He has translated several volumes of contemporary Italian poetry, including Le Vase brisé by Valerio Magrelli (Éditions du Noroît, 2000) and Instructions pour la lecture d’un journal (Écrits des Forges, to be published in 2005). He is also a member of the editorial board of the journal Exit.
