Julie Desrosiers is a puppeteer with a background in visual arts and set design who is looking to redefine puppetry in a more contemporary manner. Julie designs, makes, and manipulates unique visual worlds with an eye for research and intersections between various forms of art and objects. She has presented her work in Quebec, France, Spain, and Iceland. She works as a performer or visual artist with groups such as Théâtre de la Dame de Cœur, La Méta-Carpe (France), Zone artistique libre (ZAL), and the Cirque du Soleil. She recently received a Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton Award from the Conseil des arts du Canada.
