René-Daniel Dubois

Playwright, director, actor, translator, screenwriter, professor, poet, and pamphleteer, René-Daniel Dubois has written numerous plays including Ne blâmez jamais les Bédouins (Never Blame the Bedouins), which was warded the Governor General’s Award in 1984 and not only toured France and Belgium but was also translated into several languages. Being at home with Claude, created in 1985, was also translated into several languages, was performed on several continents, and was adapted for the screen in 1992. He is also the author of many articles and sci-fi works for the radio, television, and film. He adapted several plays and has directed several works, most notably Les guerriers (The Warriors) by Michel Garnesus, Ionesco’s Le roi se meurt (Exit the King), Alexandre Dumas’s Kean, and La Demande d’emploi (The Search for Work) by Michel Vinaver.
