Karen Fennell is a contemporary dance artist based in Montréal. A graduate of the Concordia University Dance Program (BFA), she has been an avid performer, choreographer, and teacher on the local and national scene since 2007. As a dancer, she has interpreted the work of a diverse range of choreographers such as Dana Gingras, Susanna Hood, Erin Flynn, Eroca Nicols, Maria Kefirova, Sasha Kleinplatz, and Allison Nichol. As a choreographer, she has created a number of short works for performance, and for the past year has collaborated regularly with musician Jackie Gallant, with whom she is currently developing a longer work, The trouble with reality. She also produces and hosts the bi-monthly performance event, So You Think That Was Dance?, and offers regular instruction in the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Methods.
