Ian Ferrier is a renowned Canadian poet, performer and musician. His one-of-a-kind performance art delivers a medley of literariness and popular culture. His most recent CD project—with the trance/improv music group Pharmakon MTL—mixed whispered and sung vocals, multiple guitars and drums into an absorbing voyage. Ferrier has released a CD/book Exploding Head Man (2004) and two CDs, What Is This Place (2007) and To Call Out in the Night (2011).
Mr. Ferrier has performed in over 500 shows in Canada, the United States and Europe. He currently creates and performs spoken word and music with the dance company For Body and Light (Mouvements pour corps et lumière). Recently he completed a residency at the Banff Centre, working with award-winning translator Marie Frankland on the first French translation of his work, scheduled for publication in 2014.
