For 25 years Monique Giroux, a Radio-Canada radio presenter, producer, author and show designer, has been devoting herself completely to the promotion of the primarily French-speaking song, so much here as abroad. Fervent advocate and passionate promoter of our culture, she inspires, counsels and greets with novelty and open-mindedness every great artists. Furthermore and in many ways, she bridges the gap between creators and the general public with warmth and consideration. Television programs, radio broadcasts, books, CDs and shows are all creative outlets whereby she passes on her passion for words and local music. All her dedicated efforts to promote quality music also contribute to maintain and spread out the French language. In 2007, Monique Giroux was appointed by Quebec’s government as its representative on the founding-board of directors of the Centre de la francophonie des Amériques — the CFA. She is also Member of the Charles-Cros Academy, Knight of the French Republic’s Order of Arts and Literature, Knight of The Order of La Pléiade and Member of the Ordre des francophones d’Amérique. In 2011, its Excellency the Right Honorable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, appointed her Member of the Order of Canada.
