Keith Kouna

Keith Kouna was the singer and lyric writer of the group “Les Goules”, a group that left a mark on the alternative music scene of Quebec’s province. Most of all, this group has been able to reach the population caught with integration issues. Very singular, they produced three very controversial albums and has awarded the “Miror Prize” in 2006 at the “Festival d’été de Québec” for the originality of his creations. “Les Années Monsieur” is the first solo album from this unique author-composer. The result is electrical and wonderfully allies softness, some aggressiveness, some immaturity, humour, fatalism and lucid honesty. It gives a very authentic impression by the notable presence of some legal drug addiction, some poetical and a vocal signature that gives an intimate feeling. The texts are as acrobatic as they are very touching of simplicity, the whole everything bathes into a rock kind of music, at the same time down to earth and melancholic. Rich in contrasts, his songs, easy to be hooking on, subtle and language shifted, attracts as much as they are creating instability and are much the songs to be appreciated along multiple listening.
