Jon Lachlan Stewart

Jon is a bilingual comedian, stage and artistic director of the Surreal SoReal Theater. He is really interested in the possibility of a stronger exchange between the francophone and anglophone loneliness. He played in many productions through Canada with companies like The Citadel Theater, L’UniThéâtre (Edmonton), La Seizième and Zee Zee (Vancouver), The Segal Centre and le Théâtre Prospero (Montréal). He directed the play Madame Catherine prépare sa classe de troisième à l’irrémédiable (Prospero, Carrefour International, L’Uni Théâtre) Le Petit Prince (Crows’ Theatre), Ruddigore (Lakeshore Light Opera), Macbeth Muet (international tour), TONG (La Fille du Laitier) and Before Her Time: 3 Plays by Samuel Beckett, (École Nationale de Théâtre), and translated Killer Joe of Tracy Letts (read at the Théâtre de la Licorne). He wrote and is playing his own bilingual solo Big Shot since 2008 through Anglo Canada and Montréal. Jon is currently working for the Théâtre Fred Barry in Montréal on a production freely inspired by Jonathan Livingston Seagull of Richard Bach, with actors and dancers with physical disability. Jon is graduated from the École nationale de théâtre du Canada (stage directing) and from the Studio 58 in Vancouver (acting program).
