The author of several books of poetry, including Bestiaire and Terre blanche (book and CD), Guy Marchamps regularly organizes poetry shows and readings. He is co-founder of the journal Art Le Sabord and has been a program host at Radio-Canada.
Born in Trois-Rivières in 1958, Guy Marchamps holds a Master’s degree in literary studies. In 1983, he co-founded the journal Le Sabord, to which he still contributes. From 1989 to 1991, he sat on the board of directors of the Société de développement des périodiques culturels québécois. He has published seven volumes of poetry. A literature professor for four years, he decided to leave teaching in spring 1998 to open a bookstore, L’Histoire sans fin, in his home town. Guy Marchamps is also a blues musician who plays harmonica and a thousand other instruments. He has been performing on stage for around twenty years. In his inimitable relaxed yet festive style, he frequently hosts shows and poetry evenings. A faithful friend of Patrice Desbiens for a century, he will host the “Fête à Patrice” show that doubles as the FVA closing night.
