Jean-Frédéric Messier

Founder and artistic co-director of the Momentum Theater company, Jean-Frédéric Messier wrote several of his shows for the stage, like Œstrus, Helter Skelter and Nuits blanches. Adramatist, he wrote, among others, Au moment de sa disparition (Masque award for the most original text, 2003), and Wigwam (reviewers award for young people theater and Masques award “des Enfants Terribles”, 2003). Six of his plays were published. He staged plays and musical performances for many French and English speaking companies, in the Quebec province and elsewhere in the world. The Sirius on Earth opera was staged by him at London and Mademoiselle Eileen Fontenot pour les dix sous de liberté, was staged at Montréal for the Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui. To this professional experience, Messier also adds music composition for Extasium and Hoshelaga; for theater and dance; or also for the different screen formats. He also composed all the music for the first two seasons of the Television program États_Humains and just finished working on the music for Higglety Pigglety Pop, a movie with puppets coproduced by ONF and Warner Brothers.
