Dominick Parenteau-Lebeuf

Originally from St-Blaise-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Dominick Parenteau-Lebeuf spent portions of her youth in France and Australia. She is a playwright, screenwriter, editor, and translator, with a degree in dramatic writing from the National Theatre School of Canada (1994). She is the author of some fifteen plays—several of which have been published. She has worked with such noted directors as Gervais Gaudreault, Marc Béland, Paule Baillargeon, and Caroline Binet. Dominick Parenteau-Lebeuf has been awarded residencies at Montréal’s Théâtre Le Carrousel; at the international theatre festival Les Francophonies en Limousin in Limoges, France; at the Royal Court Theatre of London; at the Théâtre français de Toronto; and at ANETH (Aux Nouvelles Écritures Théâtrales, in Paris). She has translated many novels for youth by Anglo-Canadian authors such as Tim Wynne-Jones, Martha Brooks, and Janet Lunn. Her French translations have been published by Tisseyre of Montréal. Her play texts are available from Lansman, a Belgium-based publisher.
