Carolyn Marie Souaid

Carolyn Marie Souaid is a freelance book reviewer for THE GAZETTE and the author of four books of poetry, most recently SATIE’S SAD PIANO (Signature Editions, 2005) and NEIGES (Éditions Triptyque, 2006, translation of SNOW FORMATIONS into French by Alain Cuerrier).

She is regularly invited to festivals and literary events in Ontario, Quebec and in western Canada, and was part of a delegation of Canadian poets invited to Paris in 2005 to participate in the “4th International Symposium Against Isolation and Torture.”

She is the co-producer (with Endre Farkas) of two major Montréal events: POETRY IN MOTION (the poetry-on-the-buses project, 2004) and CIRCUS OF WORDS, a multilingual cabaret of performance poetry (2005/2006). Over the years, her work has been shortlisted for the Pat Lowther Award, the Mary Scorer Award, and the A.M. Klein Award.
