The countdown to the end of 2012 is over. The world did not end. But the time we live in is still critical. This is what is meant by the prophecies of the Maya, Hopi, Anishnaabe, and many others. How will we look back at this time in the Future? Will there even be a Future? Recompose gathers a new generation of Aboriginal Artists from many nations and disciplines across Canada. Under the indelible and mischievous guidance of the tricksters, they decompose predictions of the Future to recompose new interpretations of the Past. Together, they fulfill another prophecy: “it will be the Artists who will awaken the people” (Louis Riel).
