Well-known lighting designer Lucie Bazzo has collaborated with several artists including Robert Lepage, Michel Poirier, Denis Marleau, Marcel Pomerlo, and Benoît Lachambre, to name a few. But her first love was stage design and, through her faithful collaboration with D. Kimm and Les Filles électriques, she continues to explore new facets of her talent. She designs scenery, layouts, inventive set designs, as well as light frames exhibited in various Mile End shops. This year, she is working on developing a shadow display.
The playful world of Les Filles électriques and Phénomena inspires me a great deal. The intersection of poetry and unconsciousness is the basis from which I develop light frames. My creations are unique worlds that are like small theatres within themselves. This year, I’m challenging myself to go further and create an animated shadow box that will display shapes with the help of mechanisms or light.
The festival would like to thank furniture supplier OLAM Interior for its collaboration.
