Saturday, October 7 — Meet at 4:30 pm, departure at 5 pm under the Van Horne overpass (Saint-Denis side) / Arrival and performance at Parc Sans Nom — Free (Rain date: Sunday, October 8)
Community and artistic event
Phénomena Festival, together with the Mile End fairy Patsy Van Roost and Viaduc 375, is organizing an extraordinary event in the image of the Mile End neighbourhood. Everyone is invited to make a costume and come march in a fanciful parade at once Fellinian and Surrealist, bringing together residents, street artists, students from neighbourhood schools, and the jolly brass band The Van Hornies.
The parade will be followed by a show for the whole family at Parc Sans Nom, along with the street band L’Enfant Fort and the audacious Fanfare Carmagnole. At 7 p.m., come witness a fire show designed by Izza Flambe et les Beaux-Morts-du-Fjord from AbracadaBOOM Cirkus.
Make your own costume and participate in one of the five categories:
*If you live on Clark, Saint-Urbain, Waverly, de l’Esplanade, Jeanne-Mance, or Parc between Van Horne and Fairmount, you have been assigned a cortege: look for a note in your mailbox!
**For anyone else wishing to participate in the parade, choose your own cortege!
The parade will follow the Van Horne overpass, which will be closed to traffic as part of the Viaduc 375 project.
Departure: Meet at the corner of rue Saint-Denis and boulevard Rosemont.
Arrival: Parc Sans Nom (In front of Parc Lhasa-De-Sela and between Clark, de l’Arcade, Saint-Laurent and the Van Horne access road)
We acknowledge that this parade will take place on Kanien’kehá:ka lands that were not surrendered.
We are looking for volunteers who wish to be involved on the day of the parade. Contact us for more information or to give us your thoughts!
The Parade Phénoménale is sponsored by Bell, Fondation du Grand Montréal, Viaduc 375, the borough of Plateau-Mont-Royal, and the Caisse Desjardins des Versants du mont Royal.
