Catoptromancy (noun): “divination by means of a mirror”.
The CatoptROMANTICS invite 12 guests to gather around a table. As their alter egos, Gigi L’Amour and Pipi Douleur, Lawson and Pollard host and perform this surrealistic banquet that unfolds through a series of actions, movements of objects and sonic interventions. Drawing from myth, history and science, a story unravels as the CatoptROMANTICS make use of projections, lenses and mirrors. In the company of their guests, the two hosts invoke the presence of “the other” to the table — an intimate space that becomes a universe of its own.
Only 12 spectators allowed per show.
