Falling Slowly is a dance performance accompanied by live music that evokes a slow and epic descent to the bottom of a mountain in the dark with a single light showing the way. Based on discussions with body practitioners, including myofascial release experts and osteopaths, Peter Trosztmer’s work is anchored in the concept of neuroplasticity (the neurons’ ability to transform and reorganize themselves in order to adapt to changes in their environment) and of rewriting the body’s fascia. The artist chose to perform in a parking lot and a vacant field. The adjacent building, identified by the municipality as having exceptional heritage value, gives the space its own unique character in this one-of-a-kind creation.
Length: 30 minutes
