Charline P William uses the Espace Pop’s showcase as a light box composed of pictorial objects, telling the story of the auto-immolation by fire of the Thanksgiving turkey as an act of rebellion towards the fate that was planned for her. Short reading-performances will punctuate her installation, as a matter of once or twice per night. The pictorial objects, most of them made of cardboard, brings the visitor into the turkey’s universe and her journey to death. Hands play a significant role; they represent an acting force, sometimes benevolent and protector, while other times menacing and destructive.
