Denise Desautels

Denise Desautels was born in Montreal. Since 1975, both in Quebec and internationally, she has published more than thirty volumes of poetry and artist’s books, as well as one work of fiction, Ce fauve, le bonheur (L’Hexagone, 1998). Her books have received a number of literary awards, such as the Governor General’s Award and the Terrasses St-Sulpice Prize of the journal Estuaire. An anthology of her work, entitled Mémoires parallèles (selected and presented by Paul Chamberland) was published by Noroît in fall 2004. Denise Desautels is a member of the Académie des lettres du Québec.
