Stephen Lawson

For almost 30 years, Stephen Lawson has continually transgressed the disciplinary boundaries of theatre, music, television, radio, performance art, installation, print and video. He was a co-founder of the performance troupe PRIMUS (Winnipeg, 1989-1998), his work as a director includes radical multi-disciplinary creations with the artist Jess Dobkin and he has performed internationally with Montréal musician and poet Alexis O’Hara (GuiGi and 10,000 Horses). Since 2001, as the collaborative art duo 2boys.tv, Stephen has worked with Aaron Pollard touring a wide repertoire of transdisciplinary art works and performances to museums, galleries, theatres, clubs, artist-run centres, universities and festivals including the Havana Biennial, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, the LOKAL festival in Reykjavik Iceland, Under the Radar Festival in New York City, the National Review of Live Art in Glasgow Scotland, and the Hemispheric Institute biennial Encuentros in Sao Paolo, Bueno Aires, Bogota, Santiago and Mexico City.
