For about fifteen years, André Marceau has been transcending disciplines with his poetry. During this time, he has developed a concept of living performance poetry that he promotes in Quebec. He is the founder of Tremplin d’actualisation de poésie and in 1998, he created the Vendredis de poésie, which he still hosts. He also introduced the “poetry slam” to the Québec region in 2007.
Marceau has given countless performances during a variety of shows and other events concerned with poetry, performance or musique actuelle. He has published collections of poems and haiku as well as visual poetry. He has contributed to various collective projects, such as CD compilations of musique actuelle and sound poetry, and to magazines including Estuaire and Moebius. Between 2001 and 2008, he was the director of the radio program “Des monstres dans la gorge” and since 2004, he has recorded four collective albums of living poetry, as well as one solo album called Pop sac-à-vie.
