12:00 pm to 7:00 pm

[Hors les murs]

Faire avec sans…

Installation/Performances in the FVA’s orbit.

A poetry installation in a private home, words nestled in an unfamiliar apartment for the space of one weekend. Wanderers find poems on the fridge and improbable lists, reminders of the things missing from our lives and the lives of others. Should we try to fulfil every need? Or make do, without? Sound: Simon Elmaleh. Photos: Jacynthe Carrier.

2:00 pm to 6:00 pm

[Hors les murs]

Poèmes en pyjama

Installation/Performances in the FVA’s orbit.

It is afternoon and I offer you a small performance in a private space. The space is not mine, but the words are, taken from notebooks and unfinished plays. Fragments, part storytelling, part poetry, set against a backdrop of ambient music.

5:00 pm

[“Band + Poetry” Happy Hours]

Keith Kouna + J-F No

Divan Orange, Montréal, Québec

Free admission

Keith Kouna is the singer-songwriter from the now defunct cult band Les Goules. His first solo album, Les Années Monsieur, features an ethanol-fuelled world of growly, acrobatic, candidly lucid poetry. In this show, he joins writer and consummate performer J-F No. Two bad boys whose poetry will bludgeon the stage.

8:00 pm

[Shows at 8 pm]

Maison close (Salle de montre #2)

Presented in cooperation with Et Marianne et Simon

Artistic Directors: Catherine Tardif & Michel F Côté.

Maison close presents eight of its prettiest filles (Catherine, Éric, Normand, Lyne, Martin, Guy, Lucie and Luciane—you decide) directed by the meticulous Madame en chef (Catherine Tardif). The lavish opening and closing numbers, as well as solos by our demure strippers, will be accompanied by a Maître queux beyond the pale (Michel F Côté). It’s a choreography you can join: $2 a dance. Maison close is the FVA daring to display the mute and the ecstatic, bodies drifting in pleasure. Ages 18 and over.

Founded in 2001 by choreographer Catherine Tardif, the company Et Marianne et Simon is now co-directed by Tardif and musician-composer Michel F Côté. To celebrate the company’s tenth anniversary, they created a series of migratory, recurring, associative events titled Salle de Montre.

Héliodrome reunites rapper Khyro (ex Atach Tatuq), multi-instrumentalist YPL, and bassist Éric Gingras. A cross between rap and experimental, the group produce a fascinating sound in which poetry and improvisation sink their roots firmly into the fertile ground of the unconscious.
